Nationals 2017

2 to 5 August 2017

This is the third visit for the Nationals to this excellent venue.

The 2017 National Championships are rapidly approaching. With the last Open meeting, before then approaching fas,  so time to do some adjusting, tuning, checking screws, replacing control lines – maybe even time to hit the gym! (Although that might be a bit keen). As well as the comfort of well run racing

We hope to see all of you – we had 29 boats on the water at Staunton Herald last time and it will be great to have more out this year. I am pretty sure we will be welcoming at least one new junior – it would be great to see more.

Can we have any proposals for the AGM sent to the Secretary as soon as possible as we have to notify the membership at least two weeks before the AGM. Also, note that you have to be a paid up member to make a proposal so, if you haven’t, you can do that at the same time. It helps if you have a seconder, otherwise you will have to cadge one on the day.

Entry Fee is £54 (Students 18+ in full time education and supported by their parents / Junior £5.00)
Championship dinner is an extra £15.00. On-site camping is available at a cost of £18.00.

Entries by post or via Email with electronic bank transfer.

Please note entrants must be members of the BMBA to compete so if you haven’t already sent in your membership, you can make the payment at the same time.
All boats must have a valid measurement certificate and buoyancy test.

Where is Staunton Harold Sailing Club

The club is situated in the Calke Park National Reserve near Derby. This is a pretty resevoir to sail on and there is plenty for the non sailor to do while the sailor in the family competes!  The views from the club house over the sailing area are excellent

It is conveniently situated being within a short driving distance of the Motorway network via the main A42 from Birmingham to Nottingham. A map can be found hereFor most competitors it is about 2 hrs driving from our home clubs.
