Whitefriars Training Day

With fresh winds on arrival intrepid sailors from as far afield as Yorkshire joined in on day one at Whitefriars SC.  The purpose to get some early season training.

With Toby Cooper (2013 National Champion) sharing his skill and expertise, explained the importance of a good start and how utilise the first beat to best advantage.  With slides in the clubhouse to start with this was soon followed by a series of short starts, and a short beat to get the fleet in the mood.

With a quick beak for lunch there was then an opportunity to review video footage Later on the fleet were told to aim for one particular part of the start line one at a time, again all captured on video for later perusal.  Mark Wiltshire cam a way with the most consistent and aggressive starter, with Paul Thomas-Peter getting best start.
